Aren't there enough precendents to illustrate what happens when you let religion dictate law? When it makes the decisions about what is true when nothing about its claims has a whiff of truth?
How much clearer a picture do we need to paint of the importance of education of all sorts (especially science and math) without the interference of religious ideology before this nation devolves into little more than a theocratic oligarchy?
Not that it isn't heading in that direction already, but a line has to be drawn.
