Dawkins attacks religion, so Lusher investigates his family back centuries digging for dirt. Lusher attacks Dawkins, but says not a single word about what his own ancestors were doing back then. That silence indicates he knows something he'd rather not have known, doesn't it? I mean, it couldn't be that he simply doesn't know and has never thought of checking, could it?
