We need to stop seeing comment sections as representative of anything. They aren't. They aren't polls. They aren't surveys. They are a way for magazines and newspapers to stir things up and give people the false feeling that they are somehow participating, being listened to.

And to raise the number of hits on that page. More hits means you can get more advertising revenue.
