As Opisthoknot said, putting "...you know it's a myth..." is rather condescending. These people really don't know it's a myth, they think it's all real, and being condescending will actually push the ones who might be on the fence back. (At least I see more going back than those coming forward.) The thing I fear is that a lot of these people who come out will be ostracized, and may find out too late what that will encompass. Here's to hoping that any and all who do come forward have a plan to deal with the 'fallout'.
