Here we go again. On a forum frequented by intelligent people, usually discussing serious matters, music is mentioned and immediately everyone starts chattering about pop. Pop tunes don't stick in my head because I don't listen to pop. When the Beatles were on the rise, I paid no attention to them because I was discovering the pleasures of classical music and jazz. Why is it that people who would be insulted if it were suggested all they read was tabloid sports pages, are content with a close musical equivalent of tabloid journalism?
