Well, NPR did call out that Alain Botton guy for advocating the idea of sustaining religious belief, even if it's untrue.
BTW, how come nobody is talking about this guy? He does the same old strawman against Hitchens and Dawkins "They think that every evil in the world is attributable to religion". Half-way through the interview Botton shows that he is not interested in the truth value of religious claims and teaching, by saying that he preferes for its evaluation to be ambiguous. When asked what non-believers need to borrow from religion; his first answer was "friendship". Since when was friendship monopolized by religion?
