Exactly what I said a few weeks ago after the debate between Rowan and Richard (only partly in jest), that RD has already taken over the role of moral guide of the Anglo world (and beyond) from the men with funny beliefs, in funny costumes. No need for any investiture. It's a done deal. That debate was a gentle coup, a quiet lifting of the mantle of moral guidance from the shoulders of a, confused, dying religious institution. Old Eyebrows didn't know what hit him but he is on the run. There will be a few dippy attempts get the "authority" back but all the candidates are just as daft as Rowan.

"The Archatheist of Canterbury" has a nice ring to it. By the authority vested in me ....
