As for racism, sexism, homophobia in our modern societies, I do think they have been repressed into the unconscious, as it is taboo, rather than their disappearing altogether. We can see them all the time when they manifest as trolling anonymously on internet forums, or more so when religious authority somehow makes them okay again.
