How dreadfully these Christians are persecuted! Can't wear a cross: Won't marry gay people. Jeez, they can't even take their dog for a walk in the park without having to clear up after it! Such iniquity! What "modern" Christians need is another Toquemada. He'd set those poxy judges straight!
Of course the words "Christian" and "persecution" can take on a completely different meaning, as in the conquest of South America
