When I moved to the USA it took me a long time to realise that when i used the word morality everyone naturally associated that with religion. It's almost as if the word has been redefined in this country, I found it very confusing.
I can't understand why anyone would think having morals is the same as having religion, and, conversly if you don't have religion you don't have morals. However, it seems that most people I have met in the USA equate the two.
