I suspect that Stafford is incorrect.
I left the pastorate December 01, 2004. I work overnights at a regular job, and have for the past 6 years. I think anyone who believes former pastors will "seek forgiveness" fail to understand the difficulty of making the changes involved. We didn't just wake up and decide it would be cool to be an atheist. I moved more than 3,000 miles with all I owned in a suitcase. You don't go to that extreme on a whim.
