← Jon Stewart Doesn’t Understand How Science Works Even a Little Bit

Oh that was painful. It started out mildly ok, but just got progressively worse. I face-palmed when Stewart said "the more you dive into science the more it appears to rely on faith." I don't think I need to even comment on that.

I used to be more sympathetic to this kind of message ("Let's all hold hands and get along"). The more I hear it from self-stylized "moderates" though, the more annoyed I get. There's this notion that the best solution to any problem of question or controversy is to choose the middle route that tacitly accepts "both sides." It's easy to see why this is insane. Just rewind the clock 500 years: should we burn the heretics at the stake or merely enslave them? The best answer is not in the middle. It's not even between those two positions.

Along with this squishy postmodern worldview comes "your truth" and "my truth" that leads to everyone living in their own solipsistic bubble. Bah, what nonsense!
