Perhaps he was drunk.
I know I would have to be to interview that author. Not to excuse him, but perhaps he doesn't mean what we construe when he mentions the faith and science point. What I hope is that he's mistaken for poor communication rather than not knowing that there actually is a difference between faith and probability scales.
