Obviously I am happy to learn of any advance in neurological studies, especially those which could help in a cases of paralysis. But I also admit that I skimmed the article lightly at first, waiting to see how they had disabled the apes. I'm pleased to learn it was temporarily, by injection, not by severing the nerves.
I understand that animal experimentation is to some degree necessary, but in the past it has been horribly cruel. I consider it immoral to exploit our cousin hominids and do them permanent harm.
