Sean Faircloth:
Attack of the Theocrats!
What possible advantage can there be in living in denial of ones inevitable final demise? Surely, that awareness is a motivation to make the most of things.
Every time a friend of mine dies I feel sad, and memories flood in, but by the same token, every time, for instance, I enter my DOB on line I feel thankful that I'm still on the go, especially as a male who's gone through the evolutionary masculine bottleneck and done some really dumb and dangerous things; in fact, at a funeral a couple of years ago some friends of mine and myself ended up in hysterics recalling some of our early antics, and wondering at the fact that we were still around.
Boy oh boy, how the awareness of death can enhance life!
