I hate my inner pedant sometimes. He demands to be heard far more loudly than the rest of the people who live in my head, so I often tend to come across as smug, critical, self-important and as if I only care about the mistakes.
But I can't help myself this time. I shall try to sound as non-smug as I can. Do you really mean "diction" (i.e. manner of speaking, elocution and pronunciation) here, or was "vocabulary" the word you were looking for?
