The press release seems to have reached main stream media in Norway now. The most frequent read internet newspaper ( www.db.no) has the following headline: "This almost deserves the title of humanitys most distant relative'. The article goes on to describe how life can be divided into eucaryote and procaryote and how the researches believe this organism to descend from one the oldest eucaryotes in the world.
This seems to be a bit more sober description and one that Prof. Dawkins would not so highly object to. I'm actually surprised to see a more nuanced article from this newspaper. ;)
