Research is and will be flawed, people will make mistakes, some will even be paid off.
But, Non-evidence based anything seems far worse than at least trying to state your evidence for peer review. Medicine today seen for twenty years in the future will seem as barbaric as bleedings.
Isn't non-evidence based reasoning the model of religion?
There are no perfect processes. And, that is the power of science it is self-correcting and counter-hubraic.
