The notion that everyone has the right never to be offended is absurd. Similarly the right to never hear anyone contract one's beliefs.

When we are doing silly things, other people should be encouraged to poke fun to gently let the wind out of our sails. When someone is worshiping a sacred cow it is a duty to show them how ridiculous they look to others.

Where we have to get tough is when people force their religious beliefs on others, encourage violence on others, falsely accuse each other or try to exclude groups of people from the usual human rights.
