Sean Faircloth:
Attack of the Theocrats!
Crows are smart little buggers. When I was a country kid, I used to hide and watch them play in our peanut field. I was always amazed that they seemed just like any other intelligent beings, walking along together, having conversations, playing leap-frog, bickering, etc. I know that's projection on my part, but it was extremely interesting to observe. Here in the city, they follow the hawks around giving them hell all day long. They also pester the fox squirrels, trying to steal nuts they dig up and eating them when they get run over. Oh, and they're good vermin disposal birds. If one of the cats kills a mouse or rat and doesn't eat it, I just put it out in the open and, almost like magic, a crow shows up and takes it away.
