You're right. Our social progressives have been checked out for a whole generation. Now we've been taken by surprise on a national level and our younger generation has been slow to react. Middle aged feminists such as myself are stunned that we are back to issues of birth control access and abortion rights. We thought we were done with that. We underestimated the effect of the pugnacious religious prudes. Now we're playing a catch-up game. This has been a very disappointing comeuppance for us here.
