I presume this is past tense, not present...? Or if you know it's going on now, can you give details?

That was misleading since my other examples were present tense. When I was composing I was planning to add some more from the past such as cotton plantation slavery, but I failed to do it. The past tense verb "set" was intended to mean this had thankfully stopped.
