“I didn’t want to be weak in my faith and disappoint God.”
These statements can only come from the most selfish of people, anyone who uses their faith to justify their actions is a coward, scared of being told off by their invisible parent figure. It really all comes down to them saving their own skin from hell and being rewarded, a truly loving parent would die for their children. It is the same mentality of those who commit any atrocity, it is putting your own life above those of others.
