A thing that has struck me about these "awakenings" is how kind and compassionate our ex-clergy friends are. This means something, has something to say about what is going on but its not simple and I haven't fully parsed my own thinking about it.
I get a feeling that after a while the clergy will be bereft of those members that actually do do good. Hopefully those that leave will continue to reach out to their communities and make even more of a difference than they do now.
