The is no crime of causing offence. There is a crime of causing harassment alarm or distress in certain circumstances, or behaving in certain ways within earshot of someone likely to be caused harassment alarm or distress. It is well established that this means genuine harassment alarm or distress - not merely feeling offended or uncomfortable.

I saw only the you tube clips and the people around her didn't seem alarmed, uncomfortable or embarrased may be. Was the prosecution brought on the grounds of inciting racial hatred by a third party who viewed the clip ?

People need to grow up not only in the way they behave but in the way they respond to the behaviour of others. Who is more damaged by her outburst? her or the concerned about political correctness?

I don't think her sentence is justified at most she should have been fined or ordered to attend some courses on anger management and drinking responsibly. Putting her in prison could merely bring her directly into contact with similar minded people.
