Only 50% of our behavior is genetic though... maybe there is a set of thievery genes, but people with those wouldn't be condemned to be thieves given a good environment. I used to believe I had depression, like a disease, & that very belief made it a self-fulfilling prophecy so I'm a fan of being positive & committed to a moral lifestyle (by living for the sake of preventing suffering & promoting wellness). My hunch is that too much is made of depression genes & not enough attention is given to the environmental factors which make up the other 50% of human behavior, regarding this issue.
