I can understand the argument that faith "gives people comfort" but what really gets up my nose is when they say "you got to have faith" or "it's called faith for a reason" as if this is some kind of devastating argument. When the reality is faith is the willingness to believe in any old garbage. And to manufacture respect, stick a halo on it and talk about morality a lot, thus creating an illusion of virtue.
