I wonder if it's a universal, or merely a cultural phenomenon. If this same experiment was carried out in a different country - a Chinese university, perhaps - could we expect to see the same thing?

Other people might get stuck on why a ball would only cost 5 cents while the bat is one dollar. Perhaps the ball is a used wiffle ball and the bat is aluminum- from a garage sale. That would certainly explain why they are so cheap. ;)

Yes this word game was easy. What I find perplexing is how some people get the question about a ship being immersed three feet in twenty feet of water and are asked how deep will the ship be immersed in forty feet of water... Yes, there are people who get this wrong.
