Further to my last, Christopher Hitchens said words to the effect, that it's not possible to argue with the religious mentality.
He was right, it flits from the subjuntive but impossible, to the indicitive and realistic, with alacrity.
We all do it, but if you know when you're fantasizing and when not, that's fine, but it seems to me that religion renders people incapable of knowing it.
Is it cognitive dissonance, or arrested development, or, a combination of both?
Which ever, I have always found it really weird.
