Your major religion accepts evolution and just adds a little flavor to it to make mankind special, our major religions would be destroyed outright if they accepted it. Catholicism started out a pragmatic religion by making the oft celebrated holy days of existing religions it's own and accepting evolution is just an extension of that need to remain relevant.
