It's hard to be a thinker and to belong to a religious community at the same time, but whenever you're confronted with doubt, that should drive you to seek more evidence, think things over and over and see if they make sense. It's natural to feel alienated, and I guess that if we encounter religious people every day, we periodically become tempted to go back to the comfort of being religious. Whenever I get tempted, I remind myself of how faith does more harm than good - and they aren't very attractive thoughts.
