Pork was and still is bad to eat if not properly cooked. Pork has parasites that can also be hosted by humans and it kills them. They get these parasites from feces they eat. Omnivorous animals like pigs and humans have parasite problems.
In the USA there are strict guidelines for cooking and serving pork. Kosher laws refer to healthy living and are not mandated by gods.
