As I pointed out in this web once, politics and religion must stay away from a business transaction. In this case the supplier is trying to do business with a potential buyer (new client) and he has no right to introduce a personal affair (a religious rite) in a working lunch where a business transaction is taking pace; he’s representing his firm, not his church. If I were the supplier’s boss and knew of is habit, I’d tell him not to do it while representing the firm. I’m a strong supporter that company affairs must stay out of my personal life, but also my personal life must remain at my home once I’m at work.
