My understanding of RE in the UK is that there is a locally agreed scheme of work - you could try to look for your Local Educational Authority's version on line. There are National Guidelines, KS1 EXAMPLE - but that these are more to do with teaching about religion, rather than teaching religious belief itself.
Speaking as a parent, rather than as a teacher (secondary, not RE). If my children had been shown this I would feel that it crossed the boundary between education about religious belief, and indoctrination in that religious belief. I would have expected to know what my children were being shown, and be given the opportunity to withdraw them.
If it were me, I would be speaking to the head teacher about why I had not been informed beforehand what this was about. I would also be objecting to the fact that creation is being taught as fact.
