My sincere condolences. If your situation is that dangerous, then as far as i can tell, you have only two options. Stay in the closet, or get the hell out of that country. If leaving the country isn't an option (for financial reasons or otherwise) then for your own safety keep your mouth shut about it.
Its in no way cowardly to keep your head down if your personal welfare (possibly life) is at risk.
