I'm not blaming you, but I find it very regrettable that these breathtaking achievements in space exploration are turned into a race between nations. I found it regrettable when the head of NASA had to turn the success of Curiosity into a political victory, and I find it regrettable that there is a constant need to put down the other space programs in these discussions. Why this silly one-upmanship? This is a grander thing than some football championship.

The achievements of NASA are truly amazing, but it shouldn't prevent us from admiring the progress of ESA, Russia and China, too. Certainly there's no reason for disparagement either way.
