The time for reasoned debate is really over. In the past there was a confidence in faith that allowed for discussion. Even though one side was dead sure the other side was crazy, they managed to keep it polite. Now we are seeing the death throes of unreasoned faith and the faithful are hanging on by their fingertips, hoping against hope that their god will prove himself thus legitimizing their struggles. The anger comes from knowing deep down that it's never gonna happen and they're going to have to admit that they were wrong but , like the Russians against the Germans, they will scorch the ground as they retreat and booby-trap the path to enlightenment so as to ruin as many foes as possible on the way to obscurity.
