It would be great if Richard adds some beautiful pics and explanations of self-organized patterns in Nature. Animal stripes are a great example of reaction-diffusion nonlinear processes responsible also for tissue formation, cell aggregation. This will connect the chemical basis of the biological morphogenesis with the art.
Using some pics from e.g. "Self-Organization in Biological Systems" issued in 2001 by Prinston Studies in Complexity, would be great.
