After the recent demonstration outside the vatican proving that hundreds of thoudands of catholics still support the pope, is this a sign that the catholic church feels it's all over now and they're back in charge?
"Because I want to maintain the momentum towards better child safeguarding and also the momentum towards renewal of the faith, which is essential here and a big challenge."
The man who silenced the victims of abuse feels he is in some way suited to "maintain the momentum". this momentum exists in spite of, not because of anything he has done. I get the impression there's a "business as usual" attitude developing. I'm sure given a chance he'd increase the momentum, right to the point where he could publicly state he's fixed the problem and there's no need to investigate any further
