What on Earth is a Possibilian?

In this week's New Scientist there's an opinion piece by David Eagleman entitled "Why I am a possibilian". There's also (a rather short) entry in Wikipedia.
I had never come across the term before. I'd like to know your opinions.
Is this just another way for clever people that should know better to let religion off the hook?
Have you ever met someone that describes themselves as a 'possibilian'?
Does it really differ from agnosticism?
Does it really have any meaning at all?
If you really drill down aren't all scientists 'possibilians'?
