The Iranian government is largely oblivious to external pressure. They are still in the paranoid 'Robespierre' stage of revolution.....and they well know what historically comes next.

I've read reports that even members of the Revolutionary Guard are becoming sickened with the brutality and injustice. Or more to the point....it's the phase where even those underpinning the system start to wonder if they could be next for the block.

A 19 year sentence....is probably longer than the system itself will last.
