A $150 million dollar Kentucky Creationist Theme Park is being 25% funded by the state government. Its function is to promote bible literalism with a giant Noah's ark and to trash evolutionary theory.
The way I look at it, the government is spending money to promote a particular brand of religion and to promote ignorance about science. It should not do that.
The way the governor looks at it is other theme parks get funding, so this one should too. It brings jobs and tourists. He can't very well discriminate just because it is Christian.
I suggest this is not a theme park but creationist propaganda. It should get funding only up the percentage it is indeed a theme park. It is partly just a theme park with rides.
It is sickening that people will spend so much effort to promote falsehood.
