Philosophical ignorance on a grand scale in - where else? - the Guardian today.
She believes the Selfish Gene (whether the book, or the idea, is unclear) represents the "spirit of the Thatcherite era", a time when everybody was encouraged to be selfish so, er, um, what do you expect?
I may have slightly oversimplified her thesis, but not much. It's pretty clear she's never read the book.
Subtext: more Dawkins-baiting by the execrable religious affairs editor at the Graun, Andrew Brown.
