None of them should be under the control of that corrupt government. I'm not sure why anyone would bother to sign that petition, because the Afghan government plain doesn't care what you think, and nothing you could do would ever make them care. Personally, I'm not sure of the wisdom of operating in the open. They make awfully tempting targets for terrorist attacks. They need something closer to an underground railroad. Or maybe we could try to arm the women and have them go after their abusers directly.

Signed and shared on facebook and twitter. You know, it's used as a justification for banning women from driving in Saudi Arabia. If they were to be in an accident, it's not safe for them to go to the police station without a male guard. Men, including policemen, are not held to account for crimes against women. You couldny make it up.
