The Madrid Superior Court of Justice has banned a proposed atheist march through the city on Holy Thursday, a day when Catholics traditionally hold parades there. The court upheld an earlier ban, claiming that the march would offend Catholics, and saying that it might provoke clashes with conservative Catholics because the proposed route passes several churches. Apparently the court was also influenced by some rather strongly-worded promotional posters, despite the fact that they were not produced by the march orgsanisers.
