DDoS attack on the servers

Some people have noticed glitchy behavior in the system recently. The company that hosts our system has been under a Distributed Denial of Service attack recently which they are working to resolve. This affects all of their customers, not just us.
A DDoS attack is where someone sends a larger number of innocent requests to the server in an attempt to overwhelm it and cause performance problems or cause it to crash. This requests can be as simple a a login request with no intent of actually logging in; just forcing the system to provide a response.
