Favorites?

I continue to think about an article posted here a few months ago, citing a study which concluded that Americans are not a hyperreligious outlier, but just say they're more religious than most other modernized countries: from the archives. If the study's correct, most of us are under a significant misapprehension, and cultural change could be a far easier battle than we tend to think.
It's a fact of life that news isn't news when it gets old, but I thought this article was well worth recalling. I wonder what other favorites people have from the archives here; were there any articles that really left a lasting impression?
