Hymn of thanks to Holy Joe

No. Not the Holy Joe in the Vatican, but the one who used to rule in the Kremlin: Joseph Stalin. That arch villan of the atheist world who was trained as a priest. Who would believe that Stalin would want to set himself up as a demi-god? Well I would. That's how gods are made. Below is a poem by Avidenko which was published in Pravda and is quoted in Eugene Lyons' book Stalin, Czar of all the Russias
O great Stalin, O leader of the peoples,
Thou who broughtest man to birth.
Thou who fructifies the earth,
Thou who restorest to centuries,
Thou who makest bloom the spring,
Thou who makest vibrate the musical chords...
Thou, splendour of my spring, O thou,
Sun reflected by millions of hearts.
---A. O.Avidenko

Compare this mealy mouthed piece of sycophancy with the Christian hymn Praise my Soul:
Angels help us to adore him,
Ye behold him face to face,
Sun and Moon bow down before him;
Dwellers all in time and space
Praise him! Praise him!Praise with us the God of Grace.
Hmmm, seems pretty similar to me!
