I've just listened to the BBC weekly radio programme called Material World - this week they discussed The End of The World. This is available now on listen again for UK listeners and maybe others as well.

They start off discussing the many and varied end of the world scares on the internet, but the programme really gets interesting for us when Charles B Strozier is interviewed about the possible psychological causes of 'endism' and how and why religion has taken up with it.

Then we have an interview with Dr Suzanne Newcombe of INFORM which has the aim of obtaining and making available objective and up-to-date information about new religious movements or 'cults'.

It's all pretty interesting stuff!
