Woman 'insulted' by church role in annulment
This couple were married, and now they're divorced. Well, it happens. Now the man wants to marry someone else. Fair enough. The someone else is Catholic. Fair enough. Apparently the man in question must have joined the Church since the divorce, since his first wife says they weren't Catholic. Nothing excessively dodgy about that.
Only, somehow, that means the Catholic Church have to officially declare that the first marriage -- which had nothing whatsoever to do with them -- was not a real marriage at all. Because they don't recognise divorce as being a thing that people are allowed to do.
Just one more episode in the long tale of religious insanity.
